Lincoln Cottage - Washington, D.C. – after this site was declared a national monument by President Clinton, the National Trust for Historic Preservation began a ten-million-dollar restoration of the house where Lincoln lived in the summer months during his presidency.  Russ has been serving as owner’s representative to review specifications, details, shop-drawings, and submittals, and to inspect work in progress.

Key Food, Queens –The owner of this investment property needed help soliciting bids, and supervising the replacement of the roof. The project included repair of rotten decking, removal of unused equipment, installation of new roofing, and proper flashing of all penetrations.

Philip Johnson's Glass House – In addition to the famous "Glass House", Mr. Johnson designed and built several other buildings on his property. The ownership of the property has transferred to The National Trust for Historic Preservation, following Mr. Johnson's death. Russ specified and supervised the roofing work needed to prepare the site for the public opening in April 2007.

                                       

Glass House Roof Replacement – The new roof was designed to replicate the original roof. The project included removal of all existing roofing, rebuilding and re-flashing the brick cylinder, and installation of hot-applied coal-tar pitch membrane with slag surfacing.

Maryknoll Seminary – when the Maryknoll Fathers decided to remove the 1800 square foot skylight over the library, Russ was hired to provide the design for the copper roof to take its place.  He researched the original construction drawings, and designed an approach that preserved the ornate copper details, and retained the unique character of the building.

Beach Point Club, Mamaroneck – while the club is undergoing a complex addition and renovation, Russ is serving as the owner’s representative to inspect the work in progress, and help the architect work out flashing details.  The project includes flat roofing, slate roofing, and a large skylight.

Residence, Briarcliff – the owners of this traditional home wanted to be sure the roof replacement was performed properly with the right materials.  After discussing many options with the owners, Russ prepared an outline scope of work to achieve their goals, and recommended qualified contractors to do the work.

Episcopal Diocese of NY – roofing problems represent the majority of issues which the director of property support has to deal with.  Russ is called frequently to inspect churches within the Diocese, make recommendations, and inspect work in progress.

Management Company – The managing agent of these properties relies on Russ to diagnose roof problems and supervise corrective work.

Astor Courts, Rhinebeck - Originally part of the John Jacob Astor estate, the "Casino" was designed by Stanford White. Russ is helping the new owners, who have begun a respectful restoration.

Residence, Pound Ridge, NY – Russ is a member of the design team hired to solve a variety of water problems at this seven-year-old home.

Scarsdale Co-op Apts - Russ prepared drawings and specifications, and co-ordinated the bidding process. He will inspect the work in progress; the first phase will begin summer '05.

Residence, Greenwich, CT – Russ has prepared an Outline Scope of Work and drawings for the replacement of this flat roof, which has been problematic for several years. Work completed Fall ’04.
